Even thought some restaurants also serve tapas, there are some genuine tapas bars in Carril. Some of them are located in the Praza da Liberdade (Beiramar, A Casterlara, Caramuxo’s, Novo Batel, Bar Carril, Panela) and some others at the end of the seafront promenade (Rincón da Ría and Esmorga), all of them with splendid terraces with views on to the bay.

This renovated century-old house is located at the beach front, next to the promenade. It has a terrace with one of the most spectacular views of the bay. Clams from Carril, toasts, Albariño wine or a beer are the perfect complement to enjoy the view.

Taberna do Carril “O Farturas”

Its name makes reference to the abundance of its portions. It serves dishes ranging from zorza (pickled pork) and Padrón peppers to seafood, all prepared with seasonal products from the local market. Booking is recommended.

Caramuxos bar

It offers a menu full of dishes amongst which clams from Carril, baby squid and rice with lobster stand out. It is located in front of the ría de Arousa with stunning views of Cortegada island and the clam farms.

Small establishment located in the port of Carril with a friendly atmosphere. On the first floor there is a warm dining room with views of Cortegada island. Its specialities are soupy rice and baby squids.

It has a terrace (in the sun and in the shade) and magnificent views of Cortegada island. Its dishes are prepared with fresh market produce. It accepts reservations and take away meals (previously ordered).
